Gear is the most widely used mechanical transmission parts, with a compact structure, large transmission power, high efficiency, long life, good reliability and transmission ratio accurate characteristics. Gear precision forging technology because of its significant advantages; It has been paid more and more attention by researchers and developed vigorously.
Gear precision forging technology is a gear manufacturing technology in which the gear teeth are directly obtained from the blank by precise forging and pressing, and the tooth surface can be used without cutting or with only a little finishing. Compared with the traditional cutting process, gear precision forging has the following characteristics:
(1) Improve the structure of gear, improve its mechanical properties. Precision forging makes the fiber structure of metal material evenly and continuously distributed along the tooth shape, the grain and structure are fine, and the micro defects are few. Therefore, the performance of precision forging gear is superior, the bending strength, contact fatigue strength and impact resistance of the tooth are obviously higher than that of the cutting gear. In general, precision forging can improve the impact strength of gear teeth by about 15% and the bending fatigue life by about 20%.
(2) Improved production efficiency and material utilization rate. Through precision forging, gear precision can meet precision tolerance standards, with no or little follow-up finishing, that is, heat treatment or directly put into use, high productivity and material utilization.
(3) Precision forging gear reduces the tooth profile deformation during heat treatment, improves the wear resistance of teeth and the stability of gear meshing, and improves the service life of gear. Although gear forging has many advantages and precision forging technology of straight bevel gear has been successfully applied in production, there are many difficulties in precision forging of straight bevel gear due to the difficulty of filling the tooth cavity (especially the upper and lower corners), large forming force and strict requirement of mold design and manufacturing accuracy. For many years, researchers from all over the world have made unremitting research on precision forging technology of spur gear by using various theories, technical means and test methods.
